Happy Dog requires:
DHLPP (every 1 or 3 years), or Distemper (1 or 3 years) and Lepto (annually)
Bordetella (kennel cough every 6 months)
Rabies (1 year or 3 year depending on dogs age)
Canine Influenza (Two week wait period after second Influenza vaccine.)
Happy Dog does not provide canned food, so if your pet wants some mixed in with their food please remember to bring it. If these foods do not fit your dog's diet, you are more than welcome to bring in your dog's own food.
Happy Dog does have a refrigerator, small freezer and microwave, so special food preparation is not a problem. There is no extra charge for this service.
Happy Dog will gladly administer your dog's medications with no additional charge. Please make sure you bring enough medications for your dogs entire stay.
If your dog runs out of food or medication, Happy Dog staff will see that it is replenished. There will be a $15.00 fee along with the cost of the food or medications added to your boarding bill.
Happy Dog will make every attempt to reach your veterinarian for treatment of your dog. However, if your veterinarian is unavailable, we will contact a veterinarian of our choice for the treatment of your dog.
Happy Dog takes into account each dog's own personality. Shy and timid dogs are introduced slowly starting in a non-group area paralleling a main play area, allowing your pet to adjust to the range of activity. As your dog begins making friends through the fence, they will be introduced to your dog one at a time. As each dog is an individual, time for this process varies.
Dogs showing high interest in playing with others from the start may skip the above step.
Happy Dog has a limited number of non-group areas where your dog can spend time outside without having to interact with other dogs.
Friends are discouraged from visiting the kennels unfortunately, because it is too disruptive for the dogs. Happy Dog does not allow your dog to leave our premises (for walks or trips to the beach) due to health and safety concerns.
Day Care is provided on a drop in basis (no reservation required) once the initial paper work is completed and vaccinations verified. Reservations are highly recommended for boarding. Making reservations as early as possible will help insure a kennel for your dog.
Yes, Happy Dog accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
In most cases no. Payment, is however due upon pick-up of your dog. If you have someone else picking up your dog, payment arrangements need to be made in advance. If your dog is boarding for 4 weeks or longer, 50% of payment is due in advance.
Happy Dog does not allow pick up after 6:00 pm on weekdays and after 4pm on weekends and holidays. Although the staff is still on the premises cleaning, once the dogs have been bedded down for the night, it is unfair to disturb them all for the sake of one. Once disturbed, some dogs find it difficult to settle back in.
If you forget to pick up your dog from day care Happy Dog will feed your dog Canidae and bed your dog down for the night as a boarder. Every effort will be made to contact you to inform you what has been done.
